Addendum to National Over the Counter (OTC) Guidance
This document has been produced to support prescribers with the local implementation of the NHS England (NHSE) guidance Conditions for which over the counter items should not routinely be prescribed in primary care: Guidance for CCGs that was published in March 2018. This national guidance was published following consultation with the public and the outcome of this consultation was reflected in the final published guidance.
Following the formation of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) a decision has been taken to apply the national OTC guidance across the ICB. The superseded policies that were prepared for use at place were broadly aligned with the national guidance; this addendum lists local or place-based considerations that are still in place in addition to the provisions described in the national guidance.
