• If there is suspected alcohol risk, both an alcohol history and the AUDIT-C questionnaire should be undertaken; dependent on these results the full AUDIT questionnaire may need to be performed to classify the risk.
• Only ‘higher risk’ and ‘increasing risk’ need to be referred to alcohol service
