Cytisine (cytisinicline)

Smoking cessation services are commissioned by Local Authorities.

Cytisine has not been evaluated by HWE Area Prescribing committee, therefore NOT recommended for prescribing by either Community, Secondary or Primary care, except where agreed by Trust medicines governance process for prescribing within the Trust.

Approved at East and North Herts Trust (ENHT) and The Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust (PAHT) for hospital only prescribing of full 25 day course via Trust medicines governance processes.

Not recommended for Primary Care prescribing.
